Today at church we began the OMTL sermon series.
I think I’m gonna like this one!
It’s about living life as if you had 30 days to live.
What would you do differently?
What you DO, period?
Today’s sermon was titled Living the Dash.
As in, the dash between your birth and death dates.
This series is about living life with no regrets.
Psalm 90:12 was the theme verse.
John 10:10 and Luke 7:31-32
John 13:1, Mark 22:37-39, and 1 Cor 13:8
Luke 9:51 and Matt. 25:23
PD talked about how we need to go to “Someday Anonymous” ; You control the dash, not the dates. ; God’s favorite word it “today,” whereas Satan’s is “someday.” ; Love isn’t love until you give it away. ; You’re not living until you’re loving. ; You can’t stop God’s plans for you. ; We were made for eternity, and we were made to leave a legacy. ; Our blessing can be disguised as problems. ; and some other stuff.
It was really good!
And I think the Freshman girls thing tonight went well. It was fun. But I’m not sharing much from Sunday nights with them, because it’s sort of just a group night. The basics of tonight were the same as the sermon, pretty much. But the specifics are CLASSIFIED. =P
No offense. But we told the girls that everything said in Group was going to be confidential, because we want trust. So you get no specifics. Just the main ideas.
But our challenge for the week as a church is to ask ourselves daily “What would I do if I had 30 days to live?”
Because you don’t know when you’re going to die.
People I know have died at many different ages.
Grandma died when she was in her 80s.
The awesome neighbor died at around 70.
Friend J died at 19 or so.
BFF M died at 17.
Heck, one couple lost a son when he was still an infant!
You never know when you’re gonna go.
We have to stop living as if we’re never gonna die and start living as if we could die any second.
I think I may do a revised Bucket List, things I want to do in the next month. Really apply it.
Look for it soonish.
What about you?
What would YOU do if you only had 30 days to live?
