We had six kids at youth group tonight.
It started out with four girls, and then two boys, and then nobody else showed.
We spent the first half of our time together on the floor in a circle talking about Christmas.
Then we listened to YP talk about a few more things that steal our joy.
The list of 10 things that rob us of our joy are as follows:
- *Judging others and self*
- Physical discomfort
- Needing control*
- *Living in the past*
- *Habits (good and bad)*
- Being overly busy or hurried*
We talked about the remedies to these ailments, which are:
- Unconditional love
- Observe (put a loop in it)
- Take a breath and enjoy life
- FROG (Fully Rely On God)
- Live in the now
- Take inventory
- Keep senses in check
- Stop, drop, and PRAY!
Tonight we talked about the last four, and then YP sent us off to do have alone time reflecting and thinking about our top 5, top 3, whatever. (Mine are *starred*.)
Then we did music, which was only YP and one of the gals who helps out. She played piano and sang, and YP sang and prayed.
It was a good music time.
Then I left.
And now I’m watching Criminal Minds! =)
