When I wrote down the two-sentence phrase that was going to be today’s post idea, I hadn’t thought about it too much.
I went to start typing this a minute ago and realized there’s another person I need to forgive for something, too.
First off, the phrase I’d originally written down was “unfriending me“.
It’s not like I’m fixating on it for days at a time; I just haven’t let it go all the way. I haven’t fully forgiven him for unfriending me for what might have been a “shallow” reason (as someone close to me put it when I told them the situation).
I need to forgive him for it, I think.
And the other person I haven’t quite forgiven yet is C, for making a mistake that cost me my best friend.
I searched “forgive” on BibleGateway, and this is a list of a few Old Testament verses on forgiveness.
Forgiveness is important not only for the other person’s sake, but for yours, as well.
If you hold onto the anger and the pain and the resentment and everything that comes along with not forgiving, you essentially destroy yourself from the inside out.
This is not good.
I like to think I’ve forgiven C, but I’m not sure I truly have.
It’s something I’ll be working on.
She gets out of prison in 200-something days. Momma is hoping the two of them can go to CHIC 2012 and speak together (since C will be out by then), and I’m hoping to go with.
And you know, the Bible says we are to forgive 70X7=490 times!
Mkay, gotta scoot! It’s Daddy–Daughter date night! Dad & I are going to a musical that several of my Jr. High kids are in. 🙂
