Dear You,
It’s official.
You’re 20 now.
Your teenage years are behind you.
Good for you!
Although there were some sucky times between years 13 and 19 (ie losing your best friend), there were also some super-awesome times.
And those sucky times? Yeah, you got through them.
The awesome times? You didn’t want them to end.
You’ve grown so much in the last eight years.
You’ve made really good friends, lost loved ones, stepped out of expanded your comfort zone, been confirmed & baptized, graduated. You’ve won some and you’ve lost some. You’ve learned a lot, both good and bad.
I love that you continue to persevere.
I love that you are expanding your comfort zone a little more each day/week/month/year.
I love that though you are not sure where you’ll end up after college, you’re willing to keep reminding yourself that it’s in God’s hands.
I love that you’re learning more each and every day.
I love that you’re working at being more accepting–of others and of yourself.
I love that you leave OB notes for others.
I love that you’re coming to see yourself as beautiful and loved.
I love that you’re working on deepening your relationship with God.
I love you. In general.
I love your heart.
I love your compassion.
I love your passion for knowledge.
I love your willingness to serve.
I love your dedication to your friends.
I love that you’re trying.
Love, Me.

Okay.
So, I had one of the best nights of my life tonight.
I may or may not share some photo/video after I’ve loaded it onto my laptop… It’s kind of personal stuff (you know, like people from around here. Like, their faces and stuff.), so I don’t know yet, but maybe.
All you need to know is that it was a great way to spend a birthday, and you’ll be getting an update probably tomorrow night? Maybe Friday? Maybe Friday would work better. It’ll tie in to Flawless relatively well, actually. Probably that.
In other news, I’ve been texting a friend back and forth yesterday/today (she sent a message last night, I sent her four consecutive messages this morning, and she sent me two tonight) talking about some stuff. It’s making me think a little, which is good.
And I called my bestie L tonight, ’cause she called me and left a happy birthday voicemail and I figured I needed to call her back to say thank you. I ended up talking to her for over 5 minutes, which was good. I was at church when I called her, waiting for people to show up, and YP sat down next to me and was his normal silly self. It was very entertaining. 🙂
Now I think I need to go to bed, because I have to be up semi-early in the morning for school.
Oh. I, uhm, skipped school this afternoon. Because the prof’s a jerk — but as long as he stuck to the “schedule” he gave us on Monday, my group probably didn’t need me today. So I skipped. I worked for 2.5 hours and then came home to chill. I had the afternoon free, which was really nice.
But yeah, now I think I need to go to bed…
G’night, friends! 🙂
