This.
Honestly, this blog has helped me a lot.
I used to journal every day, and then somehow fell out of it.
Being able to share my feelings with other people who’ve maybe gone through the same experiences?
I think it’s been life-changing, if not life-saving.
It’s so nice to get feedback, especially positive feedback.
What’s crazy about today is that we had a missionary from Colombia come visit this past week.
She interned at our youth group when she was in seminary, and a year later, felt God calling her to missions in Colombia.
She’s been there for the last 24 years.
She came to speak in our Sunday school time, and it was awesome.
She shared that God puts you where your giftedness is, both in talent (art, writing, whatever) and in spiritual giftedness.
She shared a story of how she’d seen children praying adults–I cried at the photos.
She said that God will confirm a calling through other people.
If it happens more than once (kinda like described here :)), God is determined.
She said that fears & doubts are not from God, and that God captures every thought.
She said (and I’d read this somewhere before) that Satan is not creative.
She said that there are no end to the cahnces (as in, with God giving you second chances or something).
She said that often, we are our own worst enemies.
She spoke again during our second service (she spoke first service too) and mentioned a lot of the same ideas.
It was a great Sunday morning.
I cried.
No joke.
And then I hung out with YP, K, and L.
At Subway + Wal-Mart.
Because it’s tradition.
It was really great, actually: I asked YP before Sunday school what he was doing after church, and he goes, “Uh… going to Subway with you and L and K? :D” And then after service he was asked by some of the youth if they could go out to lunch and he said something like, “I actually have a standing date with my girls.”
So. Cute.
So we went to eat (and talked about my stupid speech teacher) and then wandered around Wal-mart and helped him shop.
And then L & K hung out with me for a little bit before K had to go back to school and L had to go do homework.
Then I decided to eat a Dove chocolate, and guess what it said?
It’s never too late for a fresh start.
Wow.
Talk about a kick in the pants.
Anyway.
Overall, best thing going for me is this + feedback, and today was a good day. 🙂
On another positive note, I’m going’ out for pizza tonight with my small group girls.
And I get to sleep in my own bed tonight!
AND it’s my birthday in three days, on the same day that I finish this 30 Days series.
Wheeeeeeeeee! Hahaha. 🙂
